CERAMIC SHOT & GRIT BLAST MEDIA
High Durability. Precision Finishing. Minimal Contamination.
Ceramic Shot and Ceramic Grit are advanced blasting abrasives designed for precision cleaning, surface profiling, deburring, and shot peening applications. Manufactured with a high zirconia content, these media are commonly referred to as zirconia beads or zirconia grit and are valued for their exceptional durability, elasticity, and long service life.
Unlike many traditional abrasives, ceramic media offers virtually zero ferrous contamination, making it an ideal choice for blasting sensitive materials such as titanium, stainless steel, and specialty alloys. Ceramic abrasives are commonly used in air blasting, wheel blasting, and wet blasting systems where consistent surface finishes and reusable media are important.CERAMIC SHOT
Ceramic Shot, also known as ceramic beads, features a smooth, spherical shape that delivers consistent cleaning and peening results without aggressively damaging the work surface. Compared to glass bead media, ceramic shot is both harder and more resilient, allowing for significantly longer media life and reduced breakdown during blasting operations.
COMMON APPLICATIONS
- Shot peening
- Surface cleaning and contaminant removal
- Micro-surface profiling
- Blasting titanium and stainless steel
- Mold and die cleaning
- Physical Characteristics
- Spherical bead shape
- Hardness: approximately 50–65 Rockwell C
- Approximate bulk density: 150 lbs. per cubic foot
- Highly elastic and durable for extended reuse
- Ceramic Grit Blasting Media
- Aggressive Surface Etching & Precision Deburring
CERAMIC GRIT
Ceramic Grit features an angular, irregular grain structure designed for more aggressive blasting applications requiring enhanced cutting action and surface etching. Its durability and consistent particle structure make it highly effective for difficult contaminant removal and precision finishing processes.

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE
Special precautions should be taken when blasting titanium surfaces, as sparks during blasting may pose a fire hazard. Proper blasting equipment, ventilation, and safety procedures are strongly recommended.
