PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS

Garnet Grit is a natural mineral abrasive commonly used for abrasive blasting, surface preparation, and waterjet cutting applications. Its hard, angular grain structure delivers aggressive cutting action while producing relatively low dust during blasting operations.

Because of its high density and durable particle composition, garnet effectively removes paint, rust, corrosion, mill scale, and coatings while creating a clean surface profile suitable for painting, coating, and bonding applications. Garnet is widely used on both ferrous and non-ferrous materials, making it an excellent option for projects involving aluminum, stainless steel, and specialty metals where cross-contamination from other abrasives may be a concern.

In addition to blasting applications, garnet is also widely used as a precision abrasive in waterjet cutting systems due to its hardness and cutting efficiency.
