Steel Grit is a durable metallic abrasive designed for surface preparation, coating removal, cleaning, and profiling applications where a more aggressive cutting action is required. Unlike steel shot, which features a rounded shape, steel grit consists of angular, irregular particles that etch and profile the surface as they blast.

Its sharp particle geometry makes steel grit highly effective for removing rust, mill scale, coatings, and contaminants while creating an anchor profile that promotes strong coating adhesion. Due to its durability and low breakdown rate, steel grit is commonly used in wheel blast systems, blast rooms, foundries, steel fabrication facilities, and industrial cleaning operations.

Because steel grit is a ferrous abrasive, some surface contamination may occur on blasted parts, making it best suited for applications where ferrous transfer is not a concern.
