Steel Shot is one of the most widely used metallic abrasives for cleaning, peening, surface preparation, and finishing operations. Unlike steel grit, which features an angular shape for aggressive profiling, steel shot consists of smooth, spherical particles that create a more uniform finish while minimizing surface erosion.
Its durability, high density, and low breakdown rate make steel shot a popular choice for wheel blast systems, blast rooms, foundries, metal fabrication facilities, and concrete preparation projects. Steel shot is particularly effective in applications where a consistent surface finish and long media life are important.
Because steel shot is a ferrous abrasive, some iron residue may remain on blasted surfaces. As a result, it is best suited for applications where ferrous contamination is acceptable.
